This
is amazing and yes, you read this right. ASUS CEO Jonney Shih and
NVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang stepped up on stage at NVidia’s press event at
CES and teased a 7-inch ASUS tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich on the
quad-core (actually, penta-core) Tegra 3 chip and said that it will cost
 just $249

 The tablet ASUS’ CEO flashed
on stage looked like the Eee Pad MeMo ME171, but without an official
confirmation from ASUS we can’t be sure. Never mind then, let’s focus on
the tablet at hand. It was unveiled earlier at CES today and will
feature a 7-inch WXGA 1280×800 IPS display.

 Under the hood,
there’s the aforementioned quad-core Tegra 3 SoC, 1GB of RAM and
16GB/32GB of internal storage. The main camera is a 5MP one capable of
1080 video recording, while the 1.2MP at the front will take care of
video chats. The Eee Pad MeMo also features Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1
with EDR, GPS, a gyro and proximity sensor.

 The 4.400mAh will
keep it going for 8.5 hours of video playback, which is not bad. The Eee
Pad MeMo is expected to ship in Q2 of this year, but what we are more
interested in is more specific information on the pricing and
availability of this tasty tablet.
